Ever since Joy was a little girl she has had a connection with music. Her father played several instruments and that is how Joy got in touch with instruments such as the piano, drums, and bongo’s. She has also taught herself to play the flute, mouth-organ and guitar. Her mother on the other hand was more into dance and through her, Joy got acquainted with dance. She was three when she first started dance lessons. This would turn out to be one of her greatest passions. The first lessons Joy took were ballet classes. After that she did jazzballet, though at the age of eleven she decided to focus on streetdance. She has performed in many shows and demonstrationteams in the Netherlands and was finally accepted to teach at a local gym, where she received several diploma’s allowing her to teach streetdance and kickfun. Photo by Dirk Plug Joy and Annique grew up together and started writing their own songs at a young age. Together they won a competition with the song ‘We’re gonna do a song’ allowing them to perform it on stage with a full wind orchestra. Joy has also accompanied Annique many times on the guitar for performances in pubs in the UK, and were both heard on the local radio. She has been a member of the Crazy Dutch Regulars from the beginning.
